Tui Na
Chinese Bodywork
Tui Na means “push-grasp” in Chinese. It is physically a series of pressing, tapping, and kneading that removes blockages along the meridians of the body stimulating blood flow and chi to promote healing.
Tui Na’s massage-like techniques range from light stroke to deep-tissue work which would not be considered a relaxing or recreational massage. When you go into a Tui Na session you are asked, to wear loose clothing Tui Na is done on the floor or a low massage table.
What to expect?
After answering several health questions about the location of the health problem, the practitioner will concentrate on specific acupressure points, energy trigger points, muscles and joints surrounding the area.
Do not expect a light relaxing massage; this therapy method goes directly after the problem. Sessions last 30 minutes to an hour and you remain fully clothed during the treatment. Patients state they either feel relaxed or energized.
