Creating Healing for Men & Women in San Diego
December 2010
A Time Of Reflection & Gratitude
As the year comes to a close I have been reflecting on 2010 and feel a sense of gratitude for the opportunity of yet another year of service. Every entity and person that has supported us financially, every person who has shared their knowledge and skills as volunteers has allowed us to give back to our community.
No doubt it has been a year of ups and downs, challenges, uncertainties, tears, joys, lessons learned and new opportunities. Through it all, every person we have touched, every person we have served, has been because of the generosity of our supporters.
I am grateful, and proud, of our network of support and their hard work. We could not have done what we did this year without you! 100% of your donations have gone to provide services to our community.
This year, we have been able to serve 40% more clients suffering from cancer, schizophrenia, diabetes, obesity, depression, anxiety, arthritis, stress, high blood pressure, heart disease and loneliness. Since our services are offered on a sliding fee scale according to household income and everyone qualifies, our clients’ incomes have ranged from $600 per month to $8,000 per month and they have come from across San Diego County and outside of San Diego County. The individuals who are at higher incomes pay the going rates and this is are one way that we are able to offer our services at lower rates for our low-income clients.
Our deepest appreciation and gratitude to our network of Angels, friends and volunteers for their contributions and work during 2010. . . THANK YOU! - Eréndira & Don Abel

Giving Forward: An Angel that Makes a Difference
Three years ago, Tamara Leeper came to A Women’s Wellness Center to attend a marriage workshop not realizing that the visit she made that day would have a tremendous impact in healing the emotional and physical scars that come from breast cancer and that she would make a difference in the lives of others.
When she met with Erendira, she was encouraged to take a yoga class to deal with the side effects of the chemo and radiation treatment that she had undergone two years prior. She had never taken yoga and she was reluctant to take the class. She soon realized that because of the type of yoga taught at A Women’s Wellness Center is unlike yoga offered at gyms since it is a very restorative and healing yoga in a small very individualized and personalized class. The size of the class (maximum of 7 women per class) made her feel encouraged and taken care of.
After several sessions the dramatic difference in her emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing and healing encouraged her to sponsor one low income woman per year. She additionally got certified as a Yoga Instructor and currently volunteers at A Women’s Wellness Center. I am grateful for her support because she is committed to helping others, even though she has a full time job that is demanding and stressful and requires her to be at work sometimes as early as 5:00 AM. Her gratitude has made a tremendous difference in the lives of many women and has helped to keep the doors open of A Women’s Wellness Center for the past 3 years.
The Work Is Still Not Done! You Can Also Make a Difference
There are many ways that you can make a difference in the health and wellbeing of others. Some require very little effort and time, others you can help yourself while you help others and some you can help by sharing your God giving gifts and skills.
- If you are fortunate enough to be able to need a tax deduction, please consider making a tax deductible donation to A Women's Wellness Center. Any Amount makes a big difference and there are only two more weeks for your donation to be included in this tax year.
- Is buying a new car or getting rid of a car in your end of year or beginning of year plans? Donate it to us. You can be anywhere in California for a Women's Wellness Center to receive your car donation.
- Thinking of using a natural approach to stay healthy or to deal with a health issue? Consider using our services and products and at the same time purchase a service for a low-income client. We offer; Acupuncture, Reiki, Reflexology, Yoga, Bellydance, Sound Energy Healing, Supplements, Weight Loss. Call us for an appointment at (619)435-5927
- Volunteer your time in Fundraising, Accounting, Marketing, Administrative Support, Grant Writing, Business Development, and serve on the board of directors or advisory committee and more. Call (619)425-5927 to meet with us to find out how you can help.
Once again, thank you, thank you, and thank you for the opportunity that you have given us of helping others. It is through your kindness that we have been able to service underprivileged members of our community.
From the clients, staff and volunteers of A Women’s Wellness Center, we wish you and all your family a great Holiday Season and the best for 2011.
